hi ya,

going to follow this guide to top up my auto box today....

it doesn't mention about running it through the gears so presumably I just take it on a gentle run after following the guide, correct?

Well that was harder than I thought 

warmed the car with a short run, got the car jacked up and on stands on drivers' side, undid the plug and started car. some fluid came out which I was pleased about..... anyway shoved a load of new dexIII in but it simply wouldn't squeeze out any more.... let the car down and only one drip. as said I couldn't get any more in.

I figured that it was over full when I got the plug out and I did manage to get some new stuff in so hoping that's ok.

couldn't locate gearbox breather behind the plenum so im thinking this must have gone somewhere following the head work so going ot have to locate that next

auto repair. fun when it goes well...

ps does anyone have a pic of the breather pipe coming out of the gearbox..... that way when I get it on the ramps I can fish it out and re-route it correctly

ATF Oil should be checked with engine running in park with car level,not jacked to one side

As said didn't run out and stop like I thought it would cos I simply couldn't squeeze any more in 

not much came out to be fair and I did manage to get a bit of newstuff in. just didn't run out when I put it down on the level.

It must have been low then if you were only topping up.

hmmm. ill get it on the ramps to do it properly where I cam see what I'm actually doing   

if I have accidentally drained some out..as its not too much will it be ok until I can get it topped up?

If the car was level and running then you can't lose any,so any that came out was overfill

Exactly what I thought mate!!! but I like my work double checked  the car was only lifted drivers side and then bought down to level so yeah youre spot on mate... I couldn't have lost any

cheers albs.... felt a thick pipe like that but couldn't see it. will have to take the scuttle off...and its cold outside

Just topped up my autobox. The physical act of filling went well. The cuprinol sprayer pipe fits like a dream..... I could leave it in while pumping away. Got a nicely full autobox now.

However, what didn't go so well was when I pulled the hose out from the box when it started running out 

I negated to consider the residual pressure that would be in the sprayer thus when I pulled the hose out I got covered. and I mean COVERED! hahahaha I couldn't get the lid off to release the pressure as id done it up too tight

So got the road outside the house covered as well hahaha

Note to self: take car to far away place when next topping up
