Assuming yours is auto, engine/box and diff and loom. Just unplug 3.2 loom at ECU and plug into your ECU. 3.2 will run with the 2.6 ECU

I see where he's coming from. Pauls has done a lot of work on his car that's not engine related. Arguably, its easier to swap the 2.6 for a 3.2. Than do all that other work again. ...it's the devil you know.
Personally I'd keep the 4.22 dif of the 2.6 though. :)

Either or... :y

Leave the loom in the car or swap it from old engine to new or just swap the lot over :y

Personally I would keep the 2.6 loom if the car currently has no gremlins...

As Chris said above I have done a lot of work to the car but just want a bit more power. I have looked at other 3.2 s  for sale but that would mean I would have to start all over again with a car I dont know. If I just change the engine, gearbox at least I will only need to keep an eye on them :y

Ffs all your doing is an engine and box change. Out with the old in with the new.

unbolt propshaft from gearbox, unplug lectrics, undo and remove downpipes.
remove bonnet, unplug lectrics, unbolt mounts, remove radiator pack, disconnect battery,
then remove, installation is the reverse of removal...

No need to remove bonet even, provided lift strap is short enough. ;)

It's also a good chance to re seal the sumps and make it a bit more oil tight in the usual places. Inspect the bottom ends and make sure the sump pick up is clear, all while the engine is out.

If you want to do a proper job, then before dropping the new lumps in, fit new crank sensor, new hbv and a thermostat and cambelt, and as you said take the sump off, lot easier to do all these jobs on a stand than in the car.
and the reason i said remove the bonnet, was when removing engine and box as a unit it gives more space when lifting,to get the clearence on the slam panel,.

8 bolts and a four post lift and you can drop the engine straight onto the floor ::)
