Diff fluid top-up
« on: 16 December 2013, 21:39:45 »

Hi guys,

As above I want to top up this bad boy as I got a leak from the pinion seal. Is there a special procedure i.e. top up when car running or can I just jack up drivers side, locate level plug and fill it til it runs out and drop it down to allow excess out?

I also see from the fluid change guide that I need SAE90 hypoid oil for normal diff.... how do I know if its a LSD?

Cheers :)

Highly unlikely.

If you can get to filler plug, no need to jack it Steve

ps I assume putting LS gear oil (with the extra additives) is not a problem to go in to a non lsd diff?
