Even retail prices, not too bad from a dealer. I usually get a box load of both paper and spin on versions to keep me going. As I need both types, also really helps engines to have regular oil changes

just out of interest..... if you get an oil filter housing that just spins the whole assembly..... how do you get the two apart?

just out of interest..... if you get an oil filter housing that just spins the whole assembly..... how do you get the two apart? 

Strap wrench on the body to hold it, socket on the lid to remove it.... once the lid is off and the filter element removed you can get a long socket onto the hollow bolt at the bottom of the housing to either tighten .. if keeping, or remove, if changing.

TBH .. if changing and the old housing no longer needed .. a pair of stilsons work better than a strap wrench !!
