Filthy evening
« on: 23 December 2013, 23:26:07 »

Its blowing a hell of a gale here. The IDR in Reading is closed to traffic for safety (::) )

Wind rain and very high speed gusts. The bloody house is creaking. Big time! :(

Inner distribution road. Its a dual carriageway ring road around Reading town centre. Some of it elevated, by the oracle shopping centre, and very open to cross winds. You don't want a bus getting blown off the top of there.

No chance of snow down here its way too mild. 10c or so. But a soaking wet blast of cold rain down your neck soon freezes the skin. Ooh its bloody horrible.

Power was out here from about 5 until 9 pm. Out with the camping lights, stoves, etc. Good excuse to put off the present wrapping, though. :y

Had a chimney balloon in the fireplace. I've just watched it take off and disappear up the bastard chimney. I hope it came out the top, otherwise I need to get the rods out.  ::)

Oh! Don't remind me about my fence. All sorts of noises out there. Think I'll be waking up to carnage tomorrow morning.

Gliding club weather station has seen gusts over 50kts today. I'm surprised the pole is still upright, TBH. :o

Just got back home from London.  The roads are abysmal!  Blown all over the place, so much so the missus thought I was sleeping at the wheel.  A lot of standing water around these parts, so watch it with those Falkens ;D
