Water in boot under spare wheel.
« on: 16 February 2014, 12:40:08 »

After changing a light bulb I noticed that I have a small puddle under the spare wheel. Must of been there a while as has resulted in surface rust.
Anyone know where the water maybe getting in?

Thanks

Boot seal or light cluster seal...

Pop the light cluster out, any degrading of the seal should be obvious :y

Boot seal can only really be checked for condition :-\

Can also be a build up of condensation, due to rear vents being covered.

On a saloon, its the lowest point, and where it tends to acculumate. No airflow to dry it out.

Every few months, I remove the spare, and clean mine out.

Not encountered any of that in mine. :-\

But there was a post about leaking body work welds(?) in the boot shuts recently.
