We don't have fish and chips often, as the 3 chippies here in Brakkers are now all shite.  I seem to recall its around £8 for cod, pie and a large chips (we share the chips).

If they were any good, I might accept that as value for money, but they are rank, we only have in emergencies - like last Friday when we couldn't get a table or a takeaway from anywhere else on our way back to Brakkers...  ...something to do with the date

Maybe I'm out of touch.

I thought that cod and chips was about £1.50 these days. :'(

Why so expensive? Fish and chips is supposed to be cheap nutritious peasant food. :-\ :-\ :-\

Two small cod, 1 small chips, spam fritter, spring roll. £11 near us.

And the chips are in a box, which means they aren't steamed and hold some crispness by the time they are home. Ordering to eat now get wrapped in paper. :y
