and VERY expensive .... shells, clays, club membership are just the start ... then you'll want the "right" clothing, glasses, and finally ... when you want your own gun ........  just how much do you want to pay ..... (and then the licence to own said gun, and the storage/security aspects) ... all adds up to an expensive hobby (that is however, bloody good fun :) )

West London School of Shooting, being London it was expensive, but work paid  :D

We did 4 x 10 clays at different stands, then 30 clays, 3 people at a time, it was a 'mass shoot out'

I won though! Group of 15 of us, I'd never been before, score was out of 32, 8 best shots taken per stand, I got 28  8)

Have to disagree here, it's not that expensive, given what it is:

Shells? Well for around £175, gets you 1,000 shells.

Gun license I was told is £50, lasts 5 years. Basic CRB checks.

Membership at a rather posh place up the road, £275 for the year, which includes gun storage and discount at clays. Around £7 for 25

The biggest outlay is the gun, but buy second hand and like motorbikes, they don't really fall in value really.

Or just turn up and shoot, £55 gets you 50 clays, a gun, a tutor  :)

My cousin goes pheasant shooting and is a member of a syndicate where they go to weekend shoots at big country estates like Lord Opti's  ;)

Now that's so expensive that if you have to ask......  ::)  :)

Im in two local shoots, alternate saturdays in the season (nov to end jan) beween them its about a grand a year all in, including keepers/beaters tips, and cartridges,
clays are about £15 for 50 locally plus cartridges, you dont have to dress up.
