Tidy. :)

Garage is the first thing to sort in a new house. Then everything else can follow. :)

Yup, I made it so, as I knew once it was filled with junk it would never get done.

Conservatory was full of stuff for weeks, soon as that was done, things could go into there and everything began to slot into place. Last few days everything has started to look good.

Apart from my office, that's still a dumping ground  ;D

It's going to get very full!

And this is why I have an 18' x 10' shed turning up in a week or so, to go along with the 18' x 18' garage.. ;D

BTW it's been four years and my office is still like a dumping ground  :-[

Might have to go back to the quoting stage again, as one of the insurance companies is clearly taking backhanders playing silly beggers  >:(

If I believed in stress, I suspect I would have had my pants on my head months ago  >:(

Given it's taken so long, can you not claim for a storage unit?  :-\

No, as my insurance do not believe they are responsible for the delay. Hence, part of the reason for buying the mobile storage facility. Not big enough for mowers etc though, and that time of year is fast approaching again.

Is this the old "approved repairer" game again? Or are the quotes from local company's or of your choosing?

Indeed. The local builder (we have 2 in our road) quote was significantly less than the quotes arranged by my neighbour's insurance co. However, if we use the local builder, that insurance co's payout drops by half.

The half payout presumably only applies to the building side of things :-\

In which case, does it more or less cover the local (neighbour) quotes?

If it does, or comes close, then surely that is the answer...

We are only talking buildings, contents are another matter. And obviously, I expect his insurance to cover his garage and house damage.  The payout they are suggesting does not cover the work needed to cover his part of buildings replace and rebuild.
