Right I have spent the last 2 days mostly on the floor under my car .... This has been in an effort to make the exhaust better as it was blowing at every joint!
All has mostly gone well, in the sense that it's back on the car and not blowing anymore! It's a 2.2 with all 3 boxes and the cat at the front. All of the exhaust had to come off of the car in one piece as none of it would split in situ. Once off the car I had to use the clarkson tool #1 (hammer) and a blowtorch to get the pipes to separate .... I found refitting was fairly simple, Fitted the passenger box first with new rubbers installed, Then fitted the new cat to that, then the drivers side box again with new rubbers installed ... And finally the rear silencer! Everything is nice and snug with no blowing joints but I have a problem, I can only fit the 2x rear rubber hangers to the rear silencer. The 2x front mounts on the rear silencer are touching the body mounts

It's extremely difficult to move the system downwards to get the front rubbers fitted ... What have I done wrong?
The whole system is snug as it should be and doesn't catch the body in any way but the rear silencer mounts seem overly difficult to fit

Is this a normal thing to happen when doing this job?
Cheers Graham
