I had one of those. Only it was called a Scorpio, because it was a German model. It was the only car I ever bought new - 2.8 GL auto, I think it was. I had it for 9½ years, then the oil seal at the back of the gearbox failed on a motorway in Belgium. Belgian law states that whoever recovers the car from the highway is entitled to do the repair. The hamfisted incompetent morons dismantled the gearbox and put it together again wrong, and my lovely car expired a few months later. It had done about 200,000km.
Before that I had a 2.8i GLS auto for a couple of years, but that developed a cracked cylinder head - it wasn't that old.
And after that I had a 2.4i GL auto of the hatchback variety - only got rid of that 4 years ago - sold it for £200 to a man who planned to fill it up with set-top boxes and drive it to Spain (it was a LHD model).
Now I'm happy with my Omega.
