Good news for the lad.. bad news for your pocket ... he'll play the TLC card hard now .. :)

Good result though.. you can relax a bit now ... :y :y :y

Great to hear tests are clear. Could still be down to a growth spurt -- made worse by the hot weather. Remember kids tend to grow in one direction at a time ( up or out) --- lack of weight gain won't rule out a spurt !

Keep an eye on him and see how it goes.  :y

I was a single Dad for a while when he was 5. He's 22 now but developed some worrying illnesses/habits along the way. Sounds like growing up stuff to me.
Most importantly glad nothings's really wrong & if he's "fleecing" you for goodies at the shop he's fine!!!! :y

Glad he is OK. At his age I used to have to take my daughter for a ride in the car, mosts nights during the summer. No matter how tired she would be she would not settle down, she would happl run to the car 'for a ride around the block' sometimes she would be out for the count in moments, other time a few minutes, always ended up carrying her back into the house to bed.

I`m pleased the youngster`s test results were good-news Marie :y

Being a Mum and worrying are part of the 'parental' job description I think....but, try not to fret too much, especially with all the other family-concerns you have at the present. ;)

Thankyou all guy for you reasuring words, they have helped loads.

See the thing is my hubby is never concerned about anything. (he a rock) but when he tells me that hes concerned and worried about our wee boy. i know that its not just me being an over worried mother ;D ;D.

his words" peeing every 20 mins is not normal, take him back to the doc cos something is not right"

hes going back next week.

i woke up today from my wee boy stroking my head today in daddys side of the bed! so sweet. but it was followed by the words mummy i am thrusty again.......arhhhhhhhh.

Marie, the biggest bit of advice i can give you as a mum is obey your instincts. You and only you know your boy best and if you are concerned keep going back to you doc and if neccesary ask for a second opinion. Dont be fobbed off if you know there is someting wrong with your son.

Not wanting to worry you, but as Jimbob said our son has problems and i have had to fight all the way to get my concerns taken seriously.

Good luck and keep your chin up!

I'm sorry to disagree with you .. but "mother knows best" is NOT always correct, and can, sometimes be totally wrong :(

I know of a local case where the mother was "convinced" her son had an eye problem, despite numerous doctors/opticians telling her he was fine, so for a considerable time - 2 years I believe - she dosed his eyes 3 times a day with Optrex - this contains an antibiotic.

The child has recently been diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, caused it is believed, by long term exposure to the antibiotic.

I know this is an extreme case, and there are many mothers who have been proved right when they voice concern ... but not all doctors are wrong all the time ... in fact .. the majority are probably right most of the time.

Just my opinion BTW

Entwood, don't go there ;)

you dont want to know how many specialists across 2 different NHS trusts denied there was a problem in our case!

We now have a team agreeing on the problem and are close on a diagnosis, after a lot of hard work and heartache.

But yes, noone is right all the time, Doctors / Parents / Humans, even MarksDTM can be wrong sometimes  ;D

I'm with you on this one  with  james you, it took me  yrs to get my daughter to be diagnose saying she had a some wrong with her  and that my daughter had  a dissabillity and i still to this day i cant get help even though she is now been diagnose she is dispraxic and i just have to get on with it but the thing is that she has very bad behaviour probs and she is very hard work and when i first came back to cardiff over 2yrs ago it took me 4 months to get her in to a special school now that is so wrong so dont start me off

I'm not saying mums are right all the time but Maries son obviously has something going on to display the symptoms that he has!
