V6 Spark Plug choice for a 2003 3.2
« on: 07 May 2014, 23:11:25 »

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been answered thousands of times but I'm still not 100% sure what plugs to buy for my 3.2.  :-[

Vauxhall say I should be using quads PN GM 9195868 ?  :-\

On reading other posts it looks like I could use GM09 9195109 ( twins ), would these be ok and fit a 2003 3.2 fine ?  :-\

Thanks in advance,  :y  ;)

Never really paid any attention to part numbers... I just go into Vauxhall and tell them what I want, then have a look at what they bring. say yes or no

The only time that I've come close to a serious mechanical issue with my late 3.2 was the one time I fitted twins :-\

Quads every time now... :y

I only use ngk twins. In my 3.2.
quads were used to extend the change interval, and twins don't shield the spark as much,i don't like quads due to missfire issues.

Always used the twins on my last 4 migs with no problems.

As said, the quads last longer so look better on the accountants books.

If you LPG the car, definitely use twins due to the more open flame front  :y

NGK Iridium. :y

Good for a lot of miles.....

Always use 'em if I can get them

Lot of LC owners use iridium plugs now. Expensive but they all say the differance is noticable straight away. LC,s use a twin point as a standard plug, loking very similar to the Omega item

Very different set of requirements on a blown engine though like the LC due to the increased cylinder temperatures etc.

Far from needed on the NA V6
