Get an electric mower!  :y

Plug in, mow lawn, sit back and admire your handiwork with a Pimm's whilst laughing at neighbours colourful language drifting over the fence while trying to start his mower!  ::)  ;D

Get a petrol one, wait for your neighbour to start with his wanky electric, then start your petrol one and do front and back before your neighbour has done one lawn...   ...then get a mans drink, and admire...

I must agree, having just used my new-to-me petrol mower for the first time. How have I lived for *mumble mumble* years without one? And mine appears to be some sort of wanky Chinese shit, but I got it for peanuts. And a strimmer. And they smell much better than an electric as well, which is of huge importance...

Actually its branded as B&Q, but the engine has Briggs and Straton markings all over it and around 10 years old .... i must admit ive done zero maintenance on it  ::)

New plug bought on ebay....turning up on tues apparently

If that doesnt fix it, then i'll try TB's advice of cleaning the sponge air filter  :y

My money's on a blockage in the carb. I don't think I've ever replaced a plug in a lawn mower.

If it's the type with the carb bolted onto the top of the fuel tank they are a piece of cake to strip and clean. Rescued one a couple of years back after my little brother declared it dead. ;D

Thats because when the electric mower goes you bin them knowing there is naff all you cna do about it  ;D

I have to say, my petrol mows both lawns in less than half the time and if the grass is a bit long, it barely breaks a sweat, unlike the electric mower it replaced.  :y

Well, you were right  ;D It didnt fix the missfire... :(

Ive taken the carb off it.....not that easy!! after removing the pull start assembly and petrol tank...

Carb didnt look bad....tho i did poke a small needle into any small holes i could see....nothing seemed blocked......however the carb diaphram/gasket looked as tho it had seen better days....so ive ordered new set of these and a new sponge air filter for good measure.....hope that fixes it  :y

Oh Yes.....a petrol mower can cut a field of hay.....the engine may 'grunt' a bit but it does it.....where as an electric.....would be tripping the overload cutout every few mins  ;)
