Holy Pipistrelle, Robin!
« on: 17 June 2008, 22:42:21 »

:o Yikes!.....`Just had a bat in my bedroom, it landed on me and gave me quite a start!
I opened the window and after 10 mins of it flying about, it found it`s way back outside.
I think it was a little Pipistrelle bat.....`seemed to be carrying a folded unbrella; must`ve been expecting rain! ;D

Had the same in a hotel room in Austria last year. It kept flying round the perimeter of the room ignoring the open door so I figured I needed something that took up a bit of space to herd it in the right direction.

That'll be me prancing around the room in the early hours with not a great deal on and an open umbrella. Worked, though, but I pity any passer-by who might have been watching. ;D

I used to get them regularly in my flat when I lived in a school which was an old building and they nested in the roof. Used to keep a fishing net to help them back out the window. ;D

I find the best way to remove a bat from your home is another bat preferably a baseball one! [smiley=evil.gif]

Ahhhh

I had a bat fly in my bedroom once, and hung off the duvet to go to sleep.

Give us the fright of our lives in the morning.
Mum put leather gloves on and gentley carried it outside.
(now know you are meant to use a 'licensed bat handler' to do this!)
