Post Office insurance
« on: 19 June 2008, 03:45:31 »

Just thought i'd spread the word that this year i've got my meega insurance through the post office. ironically underwritten by norwich union, but about £60 cheaper than them direct! even with the fact i've been a NU customer for a few years!

anyway, apparently the post office are very competitive as they're losing so much business in other areas they need something to hold onto! the whole online road taxing system has took loads of business away..but ain't it convenient to us!

but yeah my annual policy came in at just under £400 with a £50 cashback after two months. so £350 for a '99 elite isnt too shabby! (no points, just a couple of bonus protected accidents m'lud ::) )

i know everybody is different but worth tryin the PO i think.

especially after norwich union being hands down the cheapest for me for years, and actually quite good in a claim situation (i've had two in the last four years) it's odd to go elswhere!

Vectra Elite Estate doing good post-Omega service but still not as nice to sit in.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

i'd better check me small print, but i'm sure i got business cover!

thinking about it, there's so many variables it's very hard to compare quotes for each other, even with similar cars! i usually start with the latest Which? comparison as they've done plenty of legwork :)

i've never been under £200 tho in 16 years of motoring, and that was with a Mini back in the day!

I'm happy with £350 (ish!!) being as i'm only 33, live in birmingham, have a full NCD but a couple of accidents in the last four years but don't drive far - thankfully these days!
