Need to send some Pics to someone other side of Planet, just under 6gb worth.

Too much to email, dont fancy having to upload to Photobucket and would rather send them in one lump or a least no more than a few Folders.

Any easy way, preferably free, looked at  Drop Box to name a few etc, seems that most have a  storage limit.

Guessing Upload time is going to be the biggest headache.

Google Drive looks like it is good for 15Gb. Not sure whether that applies to everyone :-\

I have been using Gmail for years and limits have increased while I have been a user.

Can you send a film (e.g wolf of wall Street) as an attachment on Hotmail?

FTP might the way to go....tho the person at the other end would need a ftp server (or the service added) :-\

Thanks all, did think about FTP, no issues my end but not sure the Technology allows at the other, in as much the person in question knows how to switch there Lappy on and off, send an email (just) and and use that Google thing, anything else would be a bit of a tall order. Not used FTP for a while, last time I did it involved using Dos Commands, is that still the same or have things moved on a bit now.

Other thing that is quiet relevant is the guy is in the out back of Thailand, so most rely on 3g Internet, in fact its not even proper 3g, more like 2.75g which throws the 3g lamp on to keep local Folk happy, if not confused. Point being with the speeds involved at other end, I can see some interruptions in Downloads going on, so going to need to present them with something at there end that nice and simple and allows a Download Resume function, rather than starting the whole Download again.

if you set up a server...the trickiest bit, then the other end can be made very easy,
if they are not up to downloading and running a client like filezilla, just give them an URL..

ftp://user:password@ftpaddress.com

one click and job done, will open in their default browser.

if resume doesnt work properly (it should but doesnt always) zip the files into smallish chunks to minimise redownloads.

An alternative to google drive that is meant to have better speeds. Not sure how client side setup is though.
