Holly Dog
« on: 05 August 2014, 19:17:34 »

For those that know her....i'd thought id let you know...

I took her to the vets today for a stomach complaint....will she ever learn not to eat everything!

Good news...she should be home from the vets tomorrow   :)

Bad news....vet scanned her....she's got cancer....growth in her intestines   :'(

But this isnt the cause of her current problem, vet reckoned, after various tests, she'd eaten something poisonous and noticed the cancer growth when scanning her stomach to see what was going on...

On vets advice, because of her age....she's 13...it would be best for her to come home and not operate on her....so hopefully i can have extra few months with her....

Maybe even get to Newent  :y

Sorry to hear she has cancer  :'( My black lab made it to 13 too and then lost the use of his back legs so had to be put to sleep.  :'( I still miss him now 4 years later.  :( So make the most of her while you still can and she is able to run around.  :y

I'm crying now, we lost two Labs at 10, the first one Billy a black one with a twisted stomach who went into the garden at his usual 10 pm before bedtime and he never came back in. :'( Nibble a yellow we lost last year of Lestroperosis picked up from Fox urine :'(. Both are in the :) garden and I speak to them every day. We now have two chocolates, Mocca is 4 while Bonzo is 10 with epilepsy and a false hip, I treasure every minute with them and their special characteristics.
Holly dog is just as special and we wish her well for as long as she is happy. :y

I was really sad to hear this TD, Holly has wormed munched her way into many hearts here, mine included. She couldn't wish for a better family to live out her time, you are both lucky to have each other. Give her a hug & a sausage from us :-* :'(

We know how that feels too sadly. Its amazing how close we get to our pets.  :'(

Too early for this perhaps but everyone is different, we found diving straight back in with another pet helped(kitten in our case) . Not to be dismissive of any memories but we all need "little monkeys" in our life's. (And he is such a little monkey  ;D )

Sorry to hear the news, make the most of the time left....... :)

Our old Golden Lab is 13, we have expected her to pass over for a while now, fortunately she keeps on going, walks are much shorter now..............

"A tear starts, unbidden, to the eye...."
I had my Heinz 57 of a dog for 17 years, in good health until the last, so a good innings. But you are never prepared for it whenever it happens and I'm not ashamed to say I miss her several decades on.
All my sympathy and commiserations.

Ron.
