wet carpets ,,,,, again
« on: 10 August 2014, 13:30:06 »

well woke up and went out to the miggy, to go to work, and all the torrential rain gave me an inch of water in the passenger and rear footwells yet again  >:( >:(
I cleaned the scuttles out, but somehow the passenger side must have had an obstruction, it was full again, pushed the long metal wire I keep in the car now, after finding the drainage hole ( sore hands again trying to find the hole), just want a few warm days to dry the f,ing carpets now.

Take the pollen filter housing out and give the void a real good clean it blocks up very easily.  :y

As for drying the carpets, seats out and hang the capets on the washing line for a couple of days :y

When I had this problem I dried it all out with a fan heater without taking the seats out. I check my scuttle drain more often than the oil level it has become an obsession ;D

That won't dry out the foam sound deadening under the carpet, which won't do the floor any favours ::)

When I cleaned  my pollen filter I found the bung but not the drain hole. Where is it exactly?

If I can't find it I'll remove the large bung as suggested by Rob G.  :y

If I remember there is a small gap between the bulkhead and the chassis that I poked some wire in and it cleared it and had not water since

Follow the top of the nearside front chassis rail back from the PAS bottle to the bulkhead. Where it disappears from view is where the drain spout lives :y

i cleaned mine recently, found it imposible to poke anything thu the bung from pollen filter end it comes out on the chassies at right angles to the bottom of the pollen fillter end if you poke something thu you just hit the chassie .

however if you poke it from chassie end its easy located exactly where al ses.

i would also get your hover out and hover the crap out by polen filter.

i got some odd looks frm the neibours tho. ;D ;D :y

I just wish I had smaller hands, they are very very sore trying to get between the filter and bulkhead lol. But just keep poking the bottom until the wire disappears, am getting used to this now. See what it like in the morning, if its full again, may  just sell the car, as am sick of it now. Thank god I have not put the new genuine floor mats in   :) :) :)
