I have a wife who deals with all that,

before getting in shower, I open the velux, no steam, dont even have to run the fan to clear it,

Had a look out for the corning stuff at the local builders merchant to no avail, just the evostik brands.

As for cleaning, Mary Poppins comes and cleans every Friday. (mother in law)

Get the kids to move out is another option..

Generally avoid anything that describes itself as a "sealant".  Anything you could possibly buy in B&Q/Homebase is junk. Get a trade low mod silicone.

Thin bleach sprayed on and left is fairly effective at killing black mold and keeping grout and silicone white.  :y

Are you saying that the products of long-established companies like Evode, with their Evo-Stik "Whte for Life" bathroom sealant are not fit for purpose?
I am in the process of renewing the sealant on the bath surround and it seems good so far; maybe it won't be, in 20 years' time?
