Heated seats not working
« on: 15 October 2014, 20:31:21 »

The leather seats in my MV6 don't warm up. The wiring/fuse must be ok as I replaced the cloth seats which did warm up.

I assume the heat pads are at fault on the leather set. Can these  be obtained ? I would think I would have to remove the seats to get at them.

Any pointers?

PFL or FL?

The element in the leather seats are not replacable, it has to be repaired.

With leather seats, the heater pads are stiched into the leather, with cloth seats the pads are separate...

If you can find a rough set of pre/mid facelift cloth CDX/Elite seats with working heaters then you could remove the pads and fit them to your leather seats. They won't be as effective due to the extra layer, but they will work. Stripping seats is not for the faint hearted though... fiddly, and they're bastid heavy ::)

Remove the seat & inspect the heater element ..... more likely to be the base seat element that has burnt somewhere - you might be lucky & be able to cut the burnt bit out of the seat heater. I fixed my Omega & Senator before it by doing just that.  :y

I'd say worth an investigate. It's one of those jobs that's time heavy, not wallet heavy, if you follow. If you can't see anything, them stretch everything back in place and you've not lost anything.
