Cyclists and the economy
« on: 08 January 2015, 18:59:26 »

I've just watched a report on a scheme to put millions of pounds into making roads safer for cyclists. It showed a man on a bike being treated very badly by motorists in a hurry. His parting shot was "Wouldn't it be better to arrive two minutes late than to kill someone. Think about it".

So I did.

If this cyclist held you up for two minutes on his journey, then it stands to reason he has held up other motorists as well. For the purpose of this exercise, I'm going to say ten. Ten motorists held up for two minutes equals 20 minutes....per day. If he makes that journey five days a week, thats one hour forty minutes. If he travels, say, 200 days a year thats about fourteen days. Fourteen 24 hour days is six weeks of eight hour working days.

SIX WEEKS WORK WASTED BECAUSE THIS INCONSIDERATE BASTID WANTS TO RIDE HIS BIKE!

Phew......

So.....if you kill, say, three cyclists and you get all your friends to do the same, this country will be back on it's feet in no time. You know it makes sense.  :y

No. If you watch too much telly you start using American spellings. Like favor instead of favour.

PS I agree about cyclists.....you always see on utube or whatever how the cyclist with the headcam got cut up by a car.....but never see the clip when the cyclist jumped a red light....strange  ::)
