Most Daewoo owners are the far side of a hundred years old. They wipe out hundreds of cyclists/bikers every day totally unaware of their actions. :)

I nearly eliminated a cyclist the other day.  :(

I wish though that cyclists would wear hi viz clothing, as I really really don't want the death of some lycra wearing pillock who thinks he looks cool or the bloke heading home from work on his old mountain bike wearing an old Barbour jacket on my conscience thanks!  :(

Playing devils advocate, perhaps you should have a read of this link

If you cannot be bothered to read all of it, it essentially it opines that environments may differ over even fairly small changes in time or location, there is not likely to be a one-size-fits-all solution. ie high vis is not the all encompassing answer you seek. On the other hand most decent cyclists would have decent or very good front and rear lights.

As you notice in everyday driving, there are idiots in both communities, don't tar them all with the same brush.

I didn't.  If you read my post properly you'd have noticed the bit where I point out that there are pricks using all forms of transport.  ;)
