No I haven't because climate control is rubbish at dealing with moisture. You can however have/use climate control without air conditioning but it will be crap.

There is no manual or auto air conditioning... manual or auto refers to the setting of the climate control system, not the air conditioning. The ECO button turns the aircon on and off. Perhaps this would be less confusing if the eco button was in the glove box ::)

Cabin ventilation is a series of processes:

1.Air passes through pollen filter.

2.Fan adjusts speed of air.

3.Air passes over aircon evaporator. If air con is switched on, this dries and cools the air. If the aircon is switched off, the air still passes over the evaporator but is unaffected by it.

4.This air then passes over the heater matrix. Whether it is heated or not depends on how the temperature controls are set.

5.The air then moves to the vents. Again which ones depends on the setting of the control panel.

Air conditioning #3 and #3 alone.

Climate control is #1, #2, #4, and #5 and is connected to airconditioning by air flow and a conveniently located switch, nothing more.

Dr Opti, to answer your question, I refer you to my first post :y

Not going to explain it again as it's getting boring. :-X

All I use is AUTO and 22c.

The car Top Gear made for pensioners had it right. The only switch was labelled 'just right'... ;D

...... manual or auto refers to the setting of the climate control system ....

You're splitting hairs. We know what air conditioning itself is .... as you say air conditioned air or not air conditioned air ...... but as per the question of what's the difference between the two, in practical terms a car with a/c has controls that you alter your self for direction & heat. Climate does it all for you.

The car promptly fogged up!  :o  :D

New pollen filter time I think.  ::)

They're still two different things doing two different jobs ???

Manual climate control will have a fan switch, a temperature control and a direction control.

Electronic climate control adds in an automatic function, which enables the controls to self adjust according to the chosen temperature setting and allows for external temperature as a reference point.

Posh electronic climate control can also be zoned, ie dual/tri/quad... allowing the temperature to be regulated precisely around the interior.

IF it is switched on, the air conditioning will help regulate lower climate temp settings in higher external temperatures and dry the air.

They complement each other but are different and separate processes within the heating/ventilation system.

Like I said. :y

Manual and auto.

And have you ever seen a car with Climate control without air-con?
Yes. My MV6 ;D

All cars pretty much have AC now, and as climate was traditionally only fitted to higher spec cars....
