Bit more legal...
« on: 30 June 2008, 16:50:34 »

Just had the front tyres replaced, as they were seriously goosed on the inside edges (wearing down to the wire on the drivers tyre).  While up, had a quick once over with the suspension, as there is a knocking noise some times on full lock...  All the tie bars, droplinks, etc, are all nice, tight and secure, and realised its not a knock, but the inner arch liner catching on the front tyre, so need to get that replaced at somepoint...

Also discovered there are no pad wear sensors on the car at all, the connectors are just taped up on the back and nothing is in the pads, but there is about 6mm on each front pad of friction material, so there fine for now...  Did top up the fluid tho, was quite low... but couldn't see any leaks anywhere...

Next up is a trip to Oldham to get the geometry done, so will need to book that in, and hopefully all thats left then is bearings!  Jimbob was saying at Keswick, that MarksDTM recommended buypartsbuy for bearings, but there not listing any... So does anyone have any idea where these alternative ones are from??  Need front and rear bearings ideally...  Name began with a C... something...

Feel a bit better now  ;D Although the wallet doesn't...

Phone buypartsby up, they sell a Contitech front hub assembly for about 32 quid with a new nut.

As for the wheel arch liner, is it damaged, if so they are about 20-25 quid new.

Contitech was the make.

Sure mark got ours from there, but is local so uses the counter, not  mail order
