Moobs and midrift
« on: 30 June 2008, 21:52:59 »

some of you guys have met me in the past, now i will admit i am not the largest framed guy in the world, for a long time i was very skinny.

Over the last few years i have started to gain a little bit of a midrift as well as some moobs and they are starting to irritate a little and i want to do something about it.

Now i do a lot of cycling, my legs are in pretty good shape, my arms are not bad either, its just my trunk thats the issue, i have a bad back so weights aren't really suitable and i find things like sit ups and touching my toes causes issues with my back.

Are these any suggestions as to what i can do to help shed the moobs and junior love handles?

My diet is not that bad, i have a couple of pints a week, i eat plenty of fruit and drink lots of water my weakness is diary products, especially cheddar cheese  :P

What about swimming?

(not that I've got a lack of moobs myself  ::) - but then my swimming regime has been lacking of late)

Have just been to Bums, Tums and legs aerobics! Torture but effective! a lot of exercises can be adapted for lower back weakness!
Good luck, tummy fat is really hard to shift!

proper swimming at a pace where you keep your heart rate at around 70% of your max heart rate (which is 220 minus your age) which will burn fat like no tomorrow.  If you cant swim then I suggest spinning.  I do a lot of cycling but I did one seesion last week and I was very suprised!  :o

I cycle a lot and find that even though it gets mt heart pumping, the only real gains are in my legs.

Swimming on the other hand is the way forward, zero impact and can be done anytime! Good luck  :y

Bodypump's a good'un ----- bit like aerobics with weights -- except you don't need to be really co-ordinated!

Not too bad on the back -- mention it to the instructor --- cos the weights are relatively small -- it's the reps that do the work. There will be a few moves you will be advised not to do tho -- but, hey, a little rest mid routine ain't bad !!!
