How often do you wash your car?

So with all the salt and muck on the roads at this time of year cars get filthy very quickly and you see some absolutely minging examples going about.  ::)

A good one was a few days ago on the M5 going over the Avonmouth Bridge and I passed a Jaguar XF totally encrusted in road grime and I thought " Jeez why have a car like that and not look after it? " on closer inspection as I went by the Jag turned out to be a Tesla!!  :o  The first one I've seen as it happens, but that reinforced what I was thinking.  Why on earth would you spend over £50000 on a car and then let it get in that state?  ::)  More money than sense is the answer I guess!  ::)  ;D

For the record, I've the Eastern Europeans have washed mine a couple of times in the last month, so while I'm not anal about it, I try not to let it get too filthy!  :y

Still, I fixed the rainwater harvesting system today, so I've got something to connect the Karcher to.

4 times a year whether it needs it or not.

Joking aside, at 70 odd miles of county A roads a day, this time of year the day after its washed its filthy again, theres a degree of whats the point.

once a week this time of year, Nothing fancy just the basic 2-Bucket method wash  & rinse :y

Indeed... I try and keep the interior spotless, but the outside will only get done once a fortnight if they're gritting... :-[

Nope :P

Filled it with fuel, topped up the coolant, drove it home and fixed the sunroof so far :D

Thats the best water to wash the car in , got a nice big barrel of that waiting for someone to wash it :y

When it gets really filthy, I wash the outside using the steam cleaner at work. This time of year anything more than a cursory get the worst of the crap off it is a waste of time and effort.


Keeping the interior nice is another matter; I don't let rubbish build up and hoover it when it needs it. I have some trade vinyl cleaner that does a great job, cleans leaves a nice matt finish that isn't greasy or have much of a smell.

I washed it today, checked the fluids and tyre pressures. Might wash myself tonight. :)
