I've got to drive 600 miles next week. I wish I could get this sorted.

Some problems are such are nuisance. Windscreen keeps misting up when it rains.

But if you select windscreen only, do you still get air in the foot wells and out the vents?

I don't think so, I'll have to check.

Let us know the outcome when you do.....as its a critical key indicator as to the cause.

Right, I've just been out and tested it.

I put the blower on full, turned the temp to Hi and switched to windscreen only. The engine was at normal temperature.

Result:

1. A little cold air was coming through the front side vents.
2. Nothing came through the middle front vent.
3. Lots of hot air was coming through the rear vents.
4. I didn't notice any air in the footwells.
5. Some cold air was blowing on the windscreen.

I hope this means something.

Ok ...Shot in the dark time 

Can you control the heat in the rear vents...IE... On the panel... make it warm.....Make it Cool... Turn panel to low and get the air con on and make it omega cold ..

Second one...Can the seller shine any light on your problem like....Did he have it too ...Did it start on one side then in time it happened to the other... Did it just happen....

Yes, if you turn down to Lo then it goes cold through the rear vents.

Its just that any history always can helps...

It helps others on here to get an idea of what they are looking at.. Therefore i Believe the more you give them the Quicker you get sorted...

I'm not sure what other information I need.

The heater is working fine now but the heat only comes out of the rear vents.

What else do I need to find out?

There is a software update, but whether it's had it or not is anyones guess...

I do not know what's causing this, but without tech 2 access I'd be looking at swapping the cc panel as a next step.

Assuming;
vac is applied to the hbv. (Is it worth removing the vac pipe just to see if it makes any odds? )
The reset has been done successfully.
The re circ button has been cycled in case the blend flap gets fuddled, as the service bulletin on TIS iirc...?
The vent flap motors are connected (or whatever they are, I've no exoerience of that issue, although I think it's a differant issue affecting left right? )
Auto is selected and ac on (Eco off)

If it's still not right after that lot, in the absence of tech 2 I'd swap the panel out for a known good one.

But ideally I'd want to ID the fault before touching anything, which does need tech 2.

Seeing as nobody knows the answer to the problem, safe to say it's not a common issue. Interested to see what the fault is tbh.

Thing is you need a guy who knows how tech2 works, which counts out most dealers.
