In that case apologies! I'm sure no one would have intended you to feel like that!
Had i heard the invite i would have been there like a shot! Especially saturday night when tigger and i sat on our own baby sitting as the bbq was moved!
You could have joined us in the rain too!

I feel that I should share my experience,  I arrived, with my daughter for a few hours on the Saturday afternoon.
It was obvious that most, if not all, those that I met knew each other well, however I was greeted by Jimbob who recognised the car and introduced me to some other members who were supervising TB and Marks DTM working on some cars. I found those that I met friendly and approachable and happy to chat or answer questions as I moved around a couple of rotating groups, and it was nice to have the opportunity to put some of the more, well known names to a face. I felt the need to refuse a sample of Elite Pete’s 60% proof whisky, but only cos I was driving. It works both ways as you also have to make the effort to engage in conversation / banter.
My only complaint would be that Ljay had gone out for the afternoon so I didn’t get my cup of coffee. Did get a quick chance to say hello as she arrived back shortly before we left.

Cheers Mike, was good to meet you.

Rad Cap, I can only apologise, but as I have said in another thread, I didn't know you were with us until catching up on oof at home.

I certainly wasnt aware of invites to your area, but was happy around the bbq where everyone was welcome.

Also, I 'knew' some before the meet, I had 'met' some before the meet
and some had never met.  Shouldnt stop everyone having a good chat though.

Had some good chats with most people, really enjoyed it.

Maybe the fact you were with a largeish group already meant you didnt really have the motiviation to involve yourself? we were welcome to join you, but you and your lot had no intention of braving the elements and joining us?  there sure as hell wasnt shelter for everyone anywhere!

If anything i've written upsets offends anyone, sorry, just trying to look for reason for the collective failure.  Devils advocate if you like.

My Mrs runs a forum and its all to do with reptiles. They have quite a few meets and in order that they will know each other they have a 'show us your mug'

I could only find this old pic on photobucket of myself and my better looking lady friend!

I can only apologise for friday, not aware you were part of our group.

I'm sure on Sat I did invite you over - but I might have had a few by then, so could have dreamt it, or simply been incomprehensible ;D

With respect, Steve, your title is somewhat unfair. If you recall, I went out of my way to introduce myself to you as I passed for the first time, even though I wasn't certain at first that your massive complex was part of the meet, and had a long chat with you and Rene and your daughter Cheryl and her husband. I was surprised that you didn't all come over to the Saturday night shenanigans, but assumed that you had a private event to celebrate with your family.
If you felt out of things I'm sorry, but I can assure you that there are no cliques at OOF meets, although obviously people gravitate first of all to those they already know, just as you did.
And I've got to say, your telling the owner that there was a special rate negotiated by the Forum in order to secure a preferential fee for your party wasn't helpful when it came to the organisers having to deal with the flak from those idiots over other silly matters.
All that said, we'd all make you more than welcome at any other meets where we might meet up. A misunderstanding at Keswick, I'm afraid.
Bill.
