Whoever offered them, is doing you no favours at all.

No, they are not suitable.

Then he's no friend. Always fit the correct springs. :y

Possibly. Depends on the likely hood of causing an incident if fitted. There needs to be no doubt. Imo. :) isn't that right, Mr Pot. :D

Certainly Mr Kettle... ::)

The issue is that although they might appear to be the same length or diameter,  they will be wound to suit a very specific weight band for any given car... so otherwise identical cars with different engines will have different springs, and that's before you start on models... sri/gsi/gls etc...

So for the Omega, estate front springs are potentially different to saloon ones, rears are definitely different, and then they will be different for each engine type, 4 cyl petrol/v6 petrol/4 cyl diesel/6 cyl diesel all have different front springs for each body type...

You don't say which diesel your car has, or if it's saloon or estate, but as there is/was no sports diesel model officially your only choice would be Irmscher or speaking to someone like Balance Motorsport and source a set of lowering springs, possibly to order, to suit your exact max axle weights/gross vehicle weight :-\

So, as Mr Black suggests ::)

going even further astray to another model is asking for trouble.

Its a saloon. Thanks i didn't realise there was so many variants.  I'll stick to specific model lowering springs.

Yes, stick to the ones designed for the Omega. Not only is the weight an issue, but the car balance will be completely different to a FWD.
