Cam belt a 2.2

How much work to do the cam belt on a 2.2 petrol FL, brother wants his doing and I have only done the V6's on the Omega, do I need a looking kit ? ???

Is it not a chain on the 2.2 petrol?

No..its a belt...every 40,000 miles or i believe 4 years. :y

I stand corrected, I avoided the 2.2 because I thought it was the y22se.

Need cam locking kit ,change water pump and coolant while your at it,all goes ok 1.5-3 hrs depending on how easy bolts come undone on cam belt cover and back plate
Also you will have to remove cam pulleys to get rear cam belt covers off as the waterpump bolts are hidden behind it.

what's in the locking kit on that one, are they twin cam on the 4 pots?

Twin Cam 'locking kit' is just a plastic wedge that I would say makes is easier, but not essential.

Thanks for all the above, as for the cam pulleys being in the way I think that's the Vectra engine, I know the 1.9 Dti is like that.

what about adjustment on the tensioner is it like the V6

Have a read of Haynes re the 2.0 16v belt... Desmond is fundamentally the same, and of course get the OOF dvd too :y
