They're French so they have "that" reputation (you know - unreliable, terrible electrics etc etc).. which is probably the answer you'll get here ;)

Has anyone ever had a C4? Are they rubbish then?

The old man bought one with a 1.6hdi engine 3 years ago.
Had no problems at all and very good on fuel.
Also, if you give it a bit of boot, its lifts is skirt up and goes very well.
Also for a small ish car, its very very comfortable

If she's having trouble getting on with a car that others find no problem with, it might be worth stepping back a little and getting her to do the ground work and try a few cars first?

Yes...well suited to a woman.

This particular example is on the expensive side.

Don't know if they went through a bad patch or what but I've seen quite a few Micras[mainly 05/55 plate cars]where the electric steering column has failed, and you really don't want to know Nissan part prices!!!

Ah, I always default to the older models, 2002-ish.

I had a cracking 1997 Micra Super S. Now no longer on the road :(

The issue you will hit with older jap cars and French cars is rot and reliability, jap cars rot around the chassis badly and French cars throw the towel in on any form of reliability.

Plenty out there to chose from so try plenty to narrow down a make/model and then find a good one.

Astra may be a size or two too large for a girlie.

Parking sensors will be working overtime. ;)
