Mass Airflow Metre
« on: 03 June 2015, 17:19:55 »

Hi all, have a Vauxhall omega elite 1999 v6 automatic V reg. My airflow metre is playing up, when I go up hills it stutters, was plugged into analyser come up as a fault although the engine light did not come on but it had registered the fault, would there be any point in cleaning with a cleaning fluid especially for the job. Also if no go would you go down the route of a used one at about £35 or a new Vauxhall one at about £320,your thoughts please appreciated, thanks for your time!!

Presuming it's either a 2.5/3.0 V6

£200 here new, Used one should be fine though.

I don't see a problem in giving the MAF cleaner a go. if it doesn't work you would have to replace it anyway  :y

Sure its the MAF at fault? They either work or completely fail on 2.5/3.0 (unlike later engines). Reliable enough that 2nd hand is fine

Think it needs further diags before condemning it.
