Here are Dr Opti's tips before you invest in a remap.

1. If you are going to put 300 BHP and 350 lb ft of torque through the wheels make sure they are at the back of the car. :D ;D

2. Make sure the chassis/handling is a step up from the Vectra/Signum.

How does this bluefin work... Does it remap & then get unplugged or do you leave it plugged in to enable you to fiddle about as you're running ?

Pity there's not one available for the Omega , then we could have a debate about proper tyre wear  ::)

I can assure you, 285BPH and 440Nm is not a problem through the front wheels provided you know how to drive.

Just sayin', like!

The aggresive map (I'm guessing number 1) will just speed up the throttle map (x1.5), so 50% throttle = 75%.  It's not nice with an auto.  I've got a similar map (I can change on the fly between economy/normal/sport).  The only difference being;  Economy:  Runs in closed loop all the time.  Normal: Bat shit crazy, but can be controlled. Sport:  Bye Bye front tyres, and that roundabout I just negotiated is covered in smoke!

And if you are getting 6.6 0-60 from a Signum, you have either got numerical dyslexia, or your readings are very wrong.  That 2.8V6 in a 9-3SS will achieve that, but only in Manual form....... and it's a lot lighter.

Is it possible your car has already had a re-map?

3. A manual gearbox. The remap plays merry hell with the auto change points. :-\

Racelogic performance box. :P

Which is dead accurate.

The thought did occur but the man from superchips says no. Apparently they can tell.

Provided the car is set up for it. I don't believe you can just increase the power without upgrading other components on the car.
The gearbox, the suspension setup etc.

Then your 4seat sports car is deffo not standard.  I'd be very surprised (in the real world) it would break the 7 second barrier. (or is the 6.46 with the oppsmesideways map)?

Most car mags test two up and with a full tank of petrol. My figures were obtained driver only and low fuel.

The difference being probably close to 200 KG. This is enough to drop it below 7 seconds.

My car  seems a particularly 'fit example' of the marque. :y

I can honestly say I have never been in a Signum V6.  I have, however been in a 9-3SS 2.8V6 which is practically the same engine, but with a higher output, lighter weight and more stable chassis.  I don't think that would make 6.6 seconds.  You must have a belter!  :y
