Being French there are obviously no reliability issues to concern yourself with. ::) ::) :)

Bit dull though. :-\

Actually a 1.8... check for accident damage as they are very lightly built... one reason why they're so frugal.

Trim is, well, French. Not a bad family hack, but a Zafira is more versatile and an Omega estate more accommodating, both for the same money  ;)

As already said very dull to drive but I look after loads of them and they don't seem to fare too bad for reliability(better than renault of same era)

I think that's what the father-in-law has.  Not the nicest of vehicles to be a passenger in ..... fortunately I've only been in it  a few times. His is the auto (automated manual) and the gear change is bloody horrible (as the interweb will agree)

Lifted from PARKERS..

Would you buy this car again and why?
no,this car was a big mistake it is a total piece of junk every bit of trim rattles or creaks.
What's it like to drive?
roll's round corners, some really bad blind spots, more rattles and creaks than any car has a right to have
Have you had any problems with the car?
brake lights stopped working, uses a lot of oil, rough as old boots on cold/wet days when first started

Would you buy this car again and why?
I wouldn't buy another Citroen. I don't find the car fun to drive but she is practical so we will be keeping her for a couple of years while we save for something better.
What's it like to drive?
Driven better. She is quite sluggish and has a habit of stalling if you don't keep fairly high revs, especially in reverse. Seems to use a lot of petrol for the size of engine but hoping that will even out now the pipe has been fixed. If you want something fast then believe me this is not for you. 0-60 in 20 minutes, lol.
Have you had any problems with the car?
We kept getting a petrol smell from the car but no-one could find any leaks. It was getting so strong the car was becoming undrivable. However, after a smoke test the problem was found in a pipe coming from the fuel tank that was hidden away in the bodywork (it looked melted?) so fingers crossed that has solved the problem.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Only if I found one really really cheap!
What's it like to drive?
OK - its not really a drivers car but it does most things reasonably well.
Have you had any problems with the car?
Various recalls early on but after a few hassles with the digital dash it settled down fairly well.

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Watch out for melting fuse boxes! ::)

The French really should have stuck to Magnetos, starting handles and acetylene headlamps. ;D
