If it off for a long period (read several days plus) you might loose the map, but highly unlikely :y

Maybe that's down to the system?  :-\

I've parked mine up several times over the years with the battery disconnected, the longest about 10 months and every time it's worked as it should when reconnected and started up.  :y

I would think most LPG systems would store the map in Flash or EEPROM memory, so requiring no battery power to keep the contents. Other short term "learning" parameters might be in battery backed RAM, but I wouldn't have thought they would affect running badly after the first start up.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I changed the battery yesterday. Now the car is noticeably more sluggish on lpg and I can hear the lpg injectors now, whereas before I couldn't. It's fine on petrol. Will this get better after a few more miles?

The car in question is a 2000 Astra 1.6 8v. I don't know the make or kind of lpg system it has.

Thanks peeps!
