Got to forget 0-60 times for a while

and concentrate on this cam belt!!!
As some may know I had a slight accident when I replaced my timing belt a couple of years ago

and the belt went and destroyed my top end

luckily I had some good fellow OOFing friends (namely TMF and TB) who helped me get the motor back on the road.
However the new Contitech belt kit has, from the very start, had a squeak. I ignored it initially as I assumed it was the new belt settling in but it didn't disappear.
Just to add, it was set up absolutely perfectly by the master TB and he turned it over loads and it was perfect, so no fitting issue. Just for the record.
Anyways i whipped the aux belt off and its definitely cam belt as the noise didn't disappear. Checked, rechecked and triple checked the cover and anything else was fouling it. nothing at all!
anyway, noise kinda settled down but was alwaus there slightly. but lately (over the last couple of months) the noise is really squeaky after a good thrashing.
today was the final straw...every time the cooling fans came on there was quite a strong rubber smell coming in to the car.
coincidentally i ordered the new kit last night (due to the aforementioned increase in noise after booting it) so the cars staying on the drive til this new one goes on.
current one is a Contitech as said and ive ordered a Gates set from allgerman. ive used Gates on a few cars now and trust theyre quality.
anyways rant over but after the first contitech shredded and this ones noise issues, im not sure ill ever order a contitech kit again!
