Given Sky don't broadcast any 1080p content yet it would put the Now TV box ahead of the 'main' (currently) service?

The only streaming box I know of with 1080p is the Apple TV one.

Maybe their "4K" content will be a bit closer to 1080p?   ;)

Is NowTV whether it be the Movies or Entertainment package streamed in 1080p or 720p on a PS4?

720p - Nothing OTT (Over The Top) from Sky is 1080p.

No, where have you read about 1080?

Its basically Roku3.....

Can't remember now, someone told me 1080p was in the pipeline for the box, why is it not the case.

All I can say is it's not a limitation of the box  ;)

Have you just invented another Sky HD Standard Kevin, lets call it 720p+.

Yes but with 8 tuners you could only have one box in the house.

tunnie- do you know if Sky intend to branch into providing UK content to European viewers by Satellite (not via Internet ) ? I know people in some locations can by using a big dish receive some of the free offering you do in the UK. However when the beam pattern and satellite changed a lot lost the main channels.

It's been asked a fair bit since they all merged, but it's not going to happen from what I've heard. Rights is the issue, Sky UK/DE/IT all have independent rights for shows.

Sky Germany for example can air Breaking Bad, we in the UK can't as Netflix have the rights.

I remember now, the New Black Sky NowTV boxes will thru-put 1080p content via the Plex App.  Older White ones were 720p ;)

Edit: Currently on offer at Curry/PC World, £15 from £25 or if you must £20 from £40 if you want 6 months Sky Entertainment or 4 months Sky Movies (Plex App is Free).

Cheap Crimbo present for someone,  :y

I see the new box stuff says the top end one will support 4K - question is, is that broadcast 4K or streamed?
