The engine itself isn't too problematic, but pump failure is common, and will write off the car.

Needs intake cleaning out regularly.

Ive seen a few make 300,000 + miles  :) There does seem to be an alarming number of older Vauxhall dti in general that have failed fuel pumps  :(

The trick with pump life is fitting the priming bulbs with built in 1 way valves as all to often, the pump fails after filter change or due to leaking bleed off pipes or injector seals.
