Right, Ihave decided to keep the miggy for now and to repair it.  I may change it soon depending on a few factors.  So time to get the parts in :y

You know it makes sense ;)
Indeed it does...

Tailgate, bumper and potentially the rear crash bar here (I think I have an unmangled one ::)) ...

That's great, thanks :y

However, Ihave a conundrum.  Parts need painting prior to fitting, parts are near Crawley.  I cannot fit parts until I remove boot lid and inspect the damage on the boot floor by the bottom of the boot lid.  Once I remove boot lid, boot will no longer close.

So, how can I be sure that the boot floor is ok without removing the boot lid.  Can I tie it closed again?  If so I will kick the firker out :)
Better to open it systematically rather than charging in... What are you doing Saturday, say 10 onwards? Can perform exploratory operation and go from there... If it can be opened then it can also be closed... Once in a working position, you can then rummage for parts in the correct colour should you find mine unsuitable ;)

What about opening the boot lid, ripping the carpet trim off the inside of it, attaching a ratchet strap to the metal work somehow then looping it around the spare wheel (as long as the retainer is still holding the spare in).

To move my 2.6 with rear end damage I had the same issue, I just used a bungee cord and some strong tape to hold the lid down although I appreciate a saloon is different!

It's a 2000 (W reg) CD with 110k on the clock.  Condition fair/good for age.  I noticed that the Parkers price for miggies has gone up in recent years.

Sorry, Matt, I have to disagree. The price of scrap has plummeted over the past year.

I wasnt joking in the other thread.  This Saturday i am having a camera up the bum, so no food from friday lunchtime and 2 sachets of picolax for my sins.  Sunday is looking better but i dont know how that holds for you.

Scrap prices may have, but the book prices for workimg miggies has improved on a few years back.  Probably due to the scrapage scheme.

2 sachets of Picolax? :o

There'll be no difficulties opening your tailgate after that, I suspect. ;D

Sunday works as well... Aim for ten, as that will give us about five hours clear...

Roger that.  If we can get it open i can asses damage and go from there.  If good to go i will buy the parts off you and get them sprayed

I know I asked the question on Faceache... But did you read the thread? I'm tempted to link it again here even though it's not relevant to the thread :-X ::)

It reacts differently on different people but I am like that guy in the thread.  Nothing happens on the first sachet but minutes after the second has gone down.........
