Ignition coil full of oil ..:(
« on: 24 January 2016, 18:35:21 »

Hi Guys,
I got small problem .
I started on cleaning and servicing the 2.2 omega and when to came to the rocker gasket...
I pull the ignition coil - the spark plugs were full right up to the rocker cover with old oil, a little bit cocked .

so I started sucking that oil and trying to clean what i can but, its still some sh..e on the bottom.
i cleaned everything as much as i thought be ok and put new gasket , cleaning throttle, new thermostat ,new filters etc.
and started -- bang 30000 fault codes came up. and big misfire.
took the cil back again and put some electric cleaner - and a lot better but still 2 codes p0354 and p0302
and works like a tractor.
I sprayed quite a lot of electric connector cleaner were the spark plugs are , and I think no.2 leaked a bit inside

Now my question how to clean everything right up to make sure when I take spark plugs out no shite go down the hole ?

some of the pic. first one with still some oil but cleaned like 0.5 litre out already.

No I didn't, I put all back - didn't took the spark plugs out  yet ( just cleaned them quite good but right on the bottom is still some old oil and the worst cocked a bit ) - I wanted to change the Oil first, and then figure out how to clean them properly before removal.

There's a guide for camcover gasket and breathers... the 2.2 is just as susceptible to breather blockage issues as the v6 :y

Compressor air line and a rag around it to contain the oil blown out should do the job if you are concerned at the oil remaining being contaminated with grit. :y

You'll get almost all of the oil out of the plug wells using a small syringe. The small amount left will drip into the combustion chamber when you remove the plug, but it won't matter. Wipe the well with a twisted rag before you fit the new plug and you're done. Quick, easy, tidy and cheap - what more could you ask for?

A small syringe is a handy thing to have when working with car fluids; you can remove or replace small quantities easily and tidily.

Thank you guys,
I have done - air and catch all of the stuff with rag,
then a more and more cleaning with screwdriver and rug.

on the end when it was not bad, after removal the spark plug I used hover (with extension - a bit of grade water hose)

then when everything was ready i put new spark plugs - Hurray :) no fault codes and car totally different :)

Good job, now do the breathers and change the camcover gasket, otherwise it will all be in vain ;)
