Decided to come back!
« on: 13 February 2016, 17:07:13 »

Octavia VRS is gone.....with 230k on its clock it wasn't behaving itself ... engine problem ..

Now have a 2012 Ford ... which so far I'm very impressed with and surprised about!  :)

Having never driven a Ford as a cab before....I shall see how it goes  :-\

Great to see you back :D

Mundano? Guess can't really be anything else as the Focus is too small really. Unless people carrier?

If diesel, MDTM always warned about keeping eye on oil level, as the injectors have a habit of filling sump with diesel, which only ends one way ;D :y.  DMFs on those TDCi's are a bit of a pain as well.

Thankyou all

Yes, it is a Mundano Estate 1.6TD . It pulls remarkably well seeing as its a 1.6 with 6 speed manual box. The fuel comp reckons its achieving an average of nearly 50mpg! But I had to have it as its got LED DRL's  ::) ;D

Chavtastic ;D

1.6 diesel pulling a heavy car like a Mundano :o. I'm still amazed by this.  I was eying up 1.6cdti Insignias to minimise tax in case I was forced down the company car route, which fortunately looks like I'm not likely to be now :)

TBH when the garage first phone me about it....I initially said I didnt want it...as at the time I was driving a 1.6 Octavia loaner while the VRS was in trying to sort the engine issue out. The 1.6 Octavia drove like a slug and hence why I didn't want a 1.6.....but after being talked into taking the Mondeo for a test drive, I couldn't believe how well it went compared the Octavia 1.6. Light clutch/light power steering and a decisive 6 speed gearbox made me change my mind  :y
It does struggle a bit with 3 or 4 passengers going up steep hills tho......

Yeah, but the Octavia has an Ice Scraper stored handily behind the fuel-flap.  Take that, Mondeo!  ;D

Why the hell would anyone want an ice-scaper behind the fuel flap?????  :-X
