Favourite Authors
« on: 17 July 2008, 16:39:12 »

I love to read when I can, but wondered what others liked to read and which authors.

My Favourites are

1. George R R Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire (fantastic)
2. David Gemmell - The Drenai Novels
3. Bernard Cornwell - The Grail Quest
4. Robyn Young - Brethren, Crusade
5. Jeffery Archer - Matter of Honour

If you have never read any of the above, you don't know what your missing :y

Don't read much these days but faves would be
1 Terry Pratchett the Discworld series
2 Bernard Cornwell the Sharpe novels

Keep meaning to try your George RR Martins mate, should soon have some time on my hands to give it a go.

Tolkien - can reread his books time and time again

Julian May - probably not everyones liking .. but she writes some very nice "fanatsy fiction"

Stephen Lawhead - can get a bit heavy but makes you use your brain whilst reading
