How long before in this society that is rapidly heading towards 1984, all cars are fitted with cameras, permanently recording everything, and once a month you get a bill for all speeding tickets, parking tickets, and automatically sent on "driving improvment" courses.  :P And the next step is to lock all bonnets, so they can only be serviced by garages, for safety reasons of course. :P :P :P

No PM received yet ::)

Usually just, place over filler, locating lugs, turn clockwise, pull handle and clamp down the little locking button, and then hold the button on the pump..

Should have a PM now. :y

I thought there shouldn't be too much to it, but would it play ball?  >:(

Incidentally, I have seen "Police Stop!" type programs full of footage from cameras like these. I think there is a system you can get that instantly uploads a video via GPRS in the event of a crash so there is an audit trail and no possibility of the footage getting tamered with. Not sure if our antiquated court system would appreciate it though.

I don't think it would be admissible? Thats even assuming that firstly the police, and secondly the CPS, give a monkeys.

I think it would only be useful in the event there was a serious accident, I'm sure it would at least be looked at under those circumstances.

I wouldn't want it for any other reason tbh

Just hope the camera doesn't get destroyed in the smashup  ;D
Wonder if it may be classed as entrapment - you have installed the camera with no other purpose than to try to catch out other drivers.

It's not to catch out anyone at all, why do you think that?

It's purely to assist in proving liability in the event of an insurance dispute, if there is an accident..

you have preemptively set up cameras.  I think if it went to court, defence would have a field day with that

If I preemptively set up cameras on my house, and then used them to prosecute a someone who drove through my fence = would they have  a field day with that too?

Sadly they'd probably do you for operating a CCTV system without the required warning signs, etc. and let the crims off with a caution. >:(

I will obviously check out the legality and any requirements before proceeding, but I do like the principle.

End of the day, we can't get out of speeding fines because the government "pre-emtively" set up speed cameras to catch us  :D  ::)

True.

I think it's a good idea, but it would probably have to be a recognised system with the backing of the police, insurers, etc. to carry any weight. However, it can't do any harm, IMHO, and it's valuable even if it is only for your own use in order to remind yourself of the circumstances.
