I'll second that, the VXR8 will certainly brighten up your life and at the same time pee off the neighbours when you fire it up first thing ;)

Hmm, there is a small matter of 15k/yr I need to do. Oh and £800/month vs £399 pcp.  :o

Other than that, I'd be all over it.

Tbh I don't think I'd lose out much in real world performance either. Not sure I'll use the difference between 4.2s to 60 and 4.6.

Sounds like you've been busy and deserve a treat.  :y  They're a pretty quick car so enjoy your test run. I'd be interested to hear your feedback when you've had a blast.  :y

TBH I don't understand how the VXR8 can do a sub 5 second 0-60,having spent only a short time amongst them, they all seem to struggle to drive in a straight when asked to do so ::)

I'm hoping for "oh look another estate agent in a 116d m-sport... Wait wtf.

YS250: yeah I'm really interested too. Other than an array of shonky hire cars, I've not really driven many cars less than 10yrs old. It's the mid-range punch I'm interested in. The quickest car I've had is a stage 3 9-5 aero. It wasn't that clever off the line due to its weight, but in the mid-range it was brutal. I'm interested how the little Beemer measures up.

I suspect I'm not hard-core enough to want to deal with that every day. My commute to work (albeit only 4-8 times a month) is 90 miles each way and starts before 6am. I suspect on a damp cold Tuesday morning in November, spending the first 30mins of that journey wrestling a car that's actively trying to kill me would become tad tedious.

I'm hoping that setting the BM's traction control and other nannying systems into p*ssy mode will allow me to negotiate these journeys at a good pace without disappearing backwards into a hedge.

What I want is a Jekyll and Hyde car. I suspect that the VXR8 is rather lacking in the Dr Jekyll side of things.

That makes perfect sense. You'll be 33 soon, need to start looking after yourself.  ;D

Don't worry, it automatically sets to 'nanny mode' by default every time you start it.  :y  You have to physically press a button to change the settings to sport, or press and hold will turn 'nanny' off to get it sideways........ errr allegedly.  ;D

Agree about the VXR8,I have this weird feeling when thinking about pushing on that I have an unwanted passenger,he's a big tall guy  with a gaunt looking face wearing a black hooded gown and carrying a big f**k off scythe.....sort of appears as the supercharger starts winding up :o ;)

90miles each way.. And I thought I was mad considering 75ish! Then again, how long does that take you?

M135i should be a lovely place to do it :y

If you are serious, let me know nearer the time.

I am a Parts Manager for a BMW main dealer and deal with these all the time.

Best thing for the outside is the M-Performance body kit, it makes the car look like it should have.
