yes I followed your instructions you pm to me and all seemed ok. but sometimes ( not always ) at around 60-70mph eml will appear & stays on for a while. the car will maintain its speed but will not accelerate. after a few miles eml goes off & alls ok again. every days driving where I tend not to reach above 60 alls ok. the car itself seems very good on fuel & does not lose oil.

Just a thought Ray but with all these little problems your having, why don't you take Mark up on his offer and pop down to Nottingham and kill lots of birds with 1 stone (so to speak)

Just a thought Ray but with all these little problems your having, why don't you take Mark up on his offer and pop down to Nottingham and kill lots of birds with 1 stone (so to speak) 

  I did pm  Mark as yet no reply. I know he is busy with is work and his house extension.

I read last night that after an egr problem & although it is fixed the ecu may need upgrading & a tech 2 is required. that may be the case as the mityvac results were all good. no loss of vacuum or gauge jumping about with engine running.

Nah, just nots of niggly things. Also I'd like some fobs (I've acquired some as-new ones) programming to my car replacing my 20 yr old battered 3-times repaired one. The gearbox may or may not be updatable. If not, then I'd like a FL gearbox ecu, which can be updated. Vac leak which I can't quite fathom, and ideally need a known perfect V6 sat next to to compare what sucks where etc. Be nice to have her on a Tech 2 just to do a proper search of fault codes, see what's stored, clear them, then run, and see what re-appears etc. Misfire at redline revs, which is odd. And the back multiram butterfly valve doesnt seem to work and there's a noticeable 'step' in the torque curve under hard acceleration.

You should have said   
I've got a laptop here with "My Naff Code Reader" on it
It reads / clears codes, you can activate the various valves / solenoids manually and it does live data

We seem to have hijacked this thread, back on track... 

OP, there's a few logical tests regarding testing vac solenoids, etc... such as Mark DTM etc are experts on this.

If it the EGR solenoid you need to test that's simple. Attach your vacuum tester to the EGR valve pipe start the engine and get it warm. On tick over there should be no vacuum open the throttle and watch the gauge  on the tester and it should register a vacuum every time the throttle is depressed on no vac' when you're off the trottle.
