I am struggling to unplug the cable from the lock motor. I have an old one to hand to show what I should do, but with my hand inside he door I cannot find the strength to wriggle it out. Is there a trick?

Easier to do when you release the motor / lock mech from the door.

Easiest way, find tags, push outwards then push down, all at same time, seems complex but does work.

I get fingernails behind each tab, one at a time, wiggle it so that its down enough it cant relatch, then do other.

Thank you gentlemen. I released the lock from the door as VXL suggested, then I could get hold of it better, and off it came. Collected several bruises, but no injuries.

Did you unclip the cable from the bottom of the door this makes it a lot easier but getting the cable clipped back is not so easy.

No. Once I had detached the lock frim the door frame it was no more trouble.

Indeed it did. I got the lock tangled up with the upper rods, so removed the door lever frame. Then dropped one of the nuts, and then the rod from the door outer handle. then had to work out where everything went. Its a job I have done before more easily, without disturbing the opening lever assembly. Job is now done, door card back in place, and all faults cured. Thanks to all for help.

The way i do them is. Put lock inside door,then fit the rods with clips. then lift lock into place making sure you get the rod in the hole at the back while lifting up, then in with bolts

That's the way I find easiest.

I always fit a new micro switch first... so i no i wont be back there in 6 months
