Had a play and downloaded a tune, which I assemed was a 'track' cost £3.50 and is only 16 seconds long on her phone, what have I done wrong.
Phone is a Samsung ?600 on O2. Any advice please, in very simple terms.

I am far from an expert and have never done it myself, but watched the kids a few times. They had to load a driver disc (supplied with phone) on there PC and then connect the phone to the PC with a USB lead and then it either uses the phones software to transfer files/songs. Or I think you can just drag and drop stuff.
By the way my own phone is an ancient Nokia 6310i black and white screen no camera no bells now whistles.

HTH

If it came with a cable and a CD, then drop the CD in the PC, and wait for it to tell you to connect the phone to the PC - thats what usually happens.

I'm a Nokia user (have been since I had mobiles), so don't know specifics about the Samsung.  You might need to buy a bluetooth adaptor to connect - less than a tenner from Maplin/Argos.

If you're really lucky, it will appear as either a disk drive or a Mobile Device in Windows Explorer - under "My Computer" - copy files from your Music directory, navigate to the phone directory - probably one in there called Music or similar and Paste them there.

If that makes no sense - try a 4 year old from across the road...they can usually do it!

But at least you get satisfaction educating it when it (inevitably) breaks...

Normally a driver set you load.

This often gives a fancy front end but, also maps the phone as a device in file manager so you can drag and drop files to the phone or memory card.

Ah...the memory card trick!  You got a memory card reader, Mike?  Drop the memory card in the PC, drag and drop/copy and paste them to there, then put the memory card back in the phone..don't forget the adaptor if its a MicroSD or similar (take a lot of shaking of the PC to get them back out....)

You have probably subscribed to a 'service' that insists on sending you a tune a week at £3.50. Every week. Hopefully you can text back the word STOP and it will stop.

Meanwhile, you can have some free Roobarb and Custard. Browse your daughter's phone to here, play it and then look for a "save" option. That will give you 2 tunes.

The others are right though. I find dropping my phone's memory card in to a card reader the easiest option for copying pics and songs back and forth.
