Whilst I understand the nostalgia side of it, you make that sound like a bad thing :-\

That said, it would make for cheap (and nasty) budget motoring...

That is cool, but then its ancestor the Fiat 124 was a cool car, for the few hours they survived in the UK before rusting away or catching fire due to Italian+leccy.

The Marina has its ancestry in the BL beancounting department, however. (no offence!)

I'm not sure some of its flaws are easily fixable. The woeful front suspension, for a start. I'm not sure there was anything strong enough around the front inner wing to take a strut, and the torsion bar setup was beyond dire (although I think later Itals got a Mcpherson strut, so maybe...

I see the Cadillac Catera (1997–01) made the list  ::)
The yanks didn't like the 40k cambelt interval or the fact it's such a tiny car  ;D

Also the delorean and the Maserati Biturbo. Neither of which I'd mind on my drive. Well, garage in the case of the Maserati obviously, so it doesn't disintegrate (as quickly).

two more utterly terrible cars. But they have 'soul' and 'character' which makes them desirable. Somehow


And now a confession: a Delorean is on my list of cars I'd like to own for a while ;D

still a hopeless PRV V6, but with an ancient turbo to add to its flaws. Sorry - characteristics


The more modern 3.0l 24valve engine would make more sense. It might just bolt onto the gearbox. Or an X30XE. Or even an Audi V6 complete with gearbox.


Realistically it was only ever intended to be a cruiser, so one that works as intended would do. It's hardly a long term keeper. There are plenty of other crap cars to try ;D

Not sure an Audi V6 would be an improvement  :-\

Granted the Gallic V6 would be a liability, at least it would bolt straight in...

The Delorean ranks as they most disappointing car I have ever driven  :-[

Promised so much but, a poor Renault engine, compromised chassis, uncomfortable interior and crap build realised a different reality
