A nice looking Ford Escort Mk1 hedge find!  ;D

The Escort Twin cam of 1968/70 would be worth a pretty penny now. As would the later RS 1600/1800.

Not sure about the value of the RS 2000.  I think it used  the same crude 4 pot lump as found in  the 2 litre Cortina and Capri.

It was, but they still go for silly money for some reason. The price of nostalgia I suppose.  ::)

Same engine; big and heavy for a 2.0l but hardly crude. I'd have a Pinto over any of the other late 60's 2.0l engines. RS2000 were the pick of performance Escorts unless you were rallying in classes that allowed a BDA

That has to be the understatement of the year!  ;D

And of you did, you probably thought it was a Ferrari 400 and so ignored it.

It's no different from any other specialist, handbuilt car that uses mass-produced mechanical parts: Jensen, Bristol, Gordon Keeble, Iso Rivolta etc etc.
